I was never geeky about Trek (I was more Star Wars), but it was always just dumb science fiction fun. :)
I take no offense. :) Yes - love Lurhman. I can't say I'm 'excited' for Australia (because, frankly, I still can't tell what the hell it's about - if it's 3 hours of scenic horizon shots and lots of people standing around, a la 'Giant', then I'm going to be pissed), but I'll see it in the theatre, come what may. ;) (there's your Baz reference)
"But remember always, as I told you at first, that this is all a fairy tale, and only fun and pretence: and, therefore, you are not to believe a word of it, even if it is true."

Looks intriguing.
You sound hesitant. :)
I was never that into Trek. I like what I've seen and read about the film so far, but I'm not geeking out about it like other stuff.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I suspect you may be a fan of the films of Baz Lurhman. Are you excited at all for Australia?
